THE INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION!!!
Have any of you ever heard of the word "revolution"? This intimidating word that only political parties and the military seem to use? Well, this blog is here to explain what revolution is all about, using the great Industrial Revolution as an example :)
Revolution...what does that mean?
A revolution, to put it simply, is a significant change in ideas and
mindsets in a society. This resulted from the exchange of ideas at the
coincidentally right time, which came together with the right people, the right
context and the right circumstances, which leads to major impacts on the
stakeholders involved. This may happen over a short or long period of time.
What was the industrial revolution anyway?
"The industrial revolution refers mainly to the shift from an agarian, handicraft, labour-intensive economy to an economy depending on machine manufacture, specialization and division of tasks and labour, and a worldwide market for goods, services and capital" -2012 history notes

The industrial revolution was not a fast moving revolution. Think
soothing stream instead of a rushing river. It happened over many decades, and
altogether took about a century, from the 1750s to the 1850s. It was one of the
revolutions that happened by pure good chance (eg, the factors we talked about
above), coming together at the correct time. It was a rapid change in the
economical and social aspects of the world, because of the new inventions,
ideas and ways of thinking. The new inventions, mainly machines that aided in
agriculture and textile producing, enabled products to be made more
efficiently, saving people much time and money.
Where and when did the revolution start?
The revolution began in Great Britan, in the early 1700. This was mainly because of the many agricultural advances. The mind map below shows how the agriculture revolution infulenced the industrial revolution.
